They are great for what they are. My first knob shells lasted me a good while on my OrbPoi, even though I've countlessly drop them on concrete/hard floors, and let kids play with them. My new ones that UltraPoi were quick to send me, will last just as long or even longer. They are easy to pop off, and easy to pop back in for when I need to charge the chips inside. The shell is good but the fitting poi for them are awesome :D. When you play with them on hard ground they mine broke with the while. But know problem i wrote ultrapoi and they sent me new ones :D great lights and a nice flow feeling. Can´t hit you that hard with the silicone balls and that makes live much more relaxed :D. The rope has a good livetime, too i use it know for one year and it´s still their. I recommend this poi everyone i meet who is in need of led poi :D
